Edmonton Broomball teams captured 2 medals at the recent Alberta Broomball Provincials held in Thorsby. Our ladies team, the Wasabi, went a perfect 3-0-0 and claimed the gold medal. The other medal went to the Edmonton Ice, our Men's "B" team. They lost a 2-1 heart-breaker to Lethbridge in the final, and settled for a silver.

 

On the "A" side, the Express were a perfect 3-0-0 in the round-robin, but lost 2-0 to the Calgary Chiefs in the semi-final ... the winning goal was scored in the last minute of the game. The other Edmonton team at Provicnials were the BABBS, who despite a 0-3-0 record, played great at Provincials. They lost all 3 games by a single goal, including an OT loss in the semi-final.

The A.K.A. are the Women's City champs for 2007-08. They beat the Drifters 3-0 in the championship final game to claim the title. On the Men's side, the Penetrators have a 1-0 series lead in the final over the Young Guns. The best-of-3 final will resume March 20 & March 27 if needed.
