Equipment

Broomball is known as "the great recycle sport". Meaning, there is always gear available to loan to new players. That way, you can try broomball out without purchasing new equipment until you are ready to take the plunge! We are so SURE you will love broomball, lending out some starter gear is the least we can do to help welcome you to our sport. What gear is required you may ask?

Take a look!

The Shoes

We always get questions about THE SHOES. Yes, they are rather cool looking, and while you might not necessarily want to wear them out for a night out on the town . . . they are built for broomball.

Bottom of the Shoe

It's the bottom grip that makes it all happen. The sole can be described as "spongy" and helps you from sliding all over the place.

Broom

The stick or broom is made of high grade, coated foam blade. The shaft is usually made from wood or aluminum.

A 5'' ball is used with our brooms. They are made of a rubber shell and do not bounce at all. There are two different rubber-qualities. Blue balls for colder temperatures or outside games and orange or red balls for indoor games.

Curious Yet ?

The rest of the gear is fairly common. You need a CSA approved helmet, shinpads (can be soccer or regular ones), and elbow pads are recommended as well. Other than that, that's it! Throw on your team's jersey and a pair of sweats or nylon pants and you are ready to go!
